Privacy policy

What we collect, why, and how long we keep it. Written in plain English because a privacy policy nobody can read protects nobody.

Who we are

Inkforge, a design and print studio based in Leicester. For any question about your data, email us and it comes straight to a person.

What we collect

Only what the site actually asks you for:

  • Enquiry form: your name, email, and optionally phone and business name, plus what you told us about the job.
  • Customer accounts: your name, email, optional business name, and a hashed password. We never store the password itself.
  • Uploaded files: whatever you choose to upload to a project.
  • Standard server logs, including IP address, kept for security and rate limiting.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data, share it with advertisers, or add you to a marketing list because you asked for a quote. There are no third-party advertising or tracking scripts on this site.

Why we're allowed to hold it

Enquiries and project data are processed to take steps at your request before entering a contract, and then to perform that contract. Server logs are kept under legitimate interests, specifically keeping the site up and preventing abuse.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for two years so we can pick up where we left off. Account and project data is kept while your account exists. Ask us to delete your account and both it and your uploaded files go.

Where it's stored

On our own server, in a database and file store we control. Uploaded files sit outside the public web root and are only ever served back to the account that uploaded them, after a login check.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us and we'll action it within a month. If you're not happy with how we handle it you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
